How Approaching Your Brand Wholeheartedly Will Increase Your Sales

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

Have you ever looked at your brand sometimes and thought to yourself,

"This will do.", "It's alright, I'm sure it's what the people want" or how about, "My brand doesn't really matter, right?"

I'm sure at one point or another you weren't feeling absolutely in love with you brand, and maybe you still aren't. Well, I'm here to tell you about how changing that narrative will drastically change your business for the better.

Where I began

I need to share a quick story with you guys about my journey with my own brand...

Back in 2015 when I graduated from college I stuck with the good ole, First & Last name for my business, not saying that's a bad thing, but I just felt really off about it. It just didn't resonate with me as much as a true business name would. (Sounds funny, right?)

After getting my first corporate job at a Transportation company, I soon felt an increased desire to really push my business and design skills because I knew I wasn't meant to be working for someone else that didn't fully believe in my passion and skills.

Eclectic Designs .CO came around to the forefront of my mind and wouldn't go away. Right before I graduated we had to ask 10 people to describe ourselves in three words and to my surprise, Eclectic came up a LOT. So I grabbed it and started in on my first logo design...

Now, looking at this it really isn't bad but it also isn't me. The brand created around this logo included being modern, bold and custom. My overall esthetic expressed that I was still very 'corporate' centered. Sharing images of me in blazers and portfolio pieces from my corporate jobs. I was offering services to anyone and everyone that walked my way. (I even would drop my prices to THEIR budget. YIKES!)

Fast forward to 2020

When I looked at my overall branding, I still felt incredibly detached.

It was time to really take my brand into my own hands, I sat back and approached myself as a if I was a client. I took myself through the entire process:

  • Mood Boards

  • Color Variations

  • Brand Strategy

  • My mission

  • What my goals were

  • How I wanted to be represented

  • Who were my ideal clients

  • How I can embrace my unique qualities

  • How I can show up as myself

When I was finally able to approach my brand wholeheartedly, a lot of things started to unfold for me and my business. and the same things can happen for you!

How to approach your brand wholeheartedly

1. You should love your brand

Our businesses are a piece of who we are so they should be supported by a brand that we absolutely love! So much so that we would have no problem wearing it around on a daily basis. Think about how it would feel to have a brand that you were so damn proud of. How would you approach things differently with those feelings?

2. Embrace your unique qualities

There is only ONE of you in this world, so what makes you truly unique? When you highlight on these qualities, the right people will be attracted to them and bring in the type of clients that want to work with you based of what makes you unique and sets you a part from all your competitors.

3. Be confident in what you do and who you do it for

When you know what your mission is and why you even started your business in the first place, being confident in what you offer will essentially be easier. It's important to share with those seeking your expertise that you feel comfortable and have knowledge in your industry, knowing for a fact that when they invest in you or your business they won't question if it was worth it.

By understanding these 3 steps to approach your business wholeheartedly you will begin to boost your overall appearance in your industry, feel confident in your offering and attract your ideal clients, which in return will of course, boost your overall sales!
